Garden
maintenance
Regular or occasional visits to keep your gardens looking their best.
When
you sign up for our regular garden maintenance service
we will look after your garden beds, shrubs, and small trees from
spring through to fall so that you can enjoy all the benefits of your
property without any of the work.
The
first visit will be a spring clean-up to start the
season off right with edging, pruning, tidying and fertilizing.
Following visits, (usually every two weeks throughout the summer) will
keep your gardens looking their best with more weeding, pruning and
edging, plus dead-heading, preventative maintenance, staking, dividing,
and general garden upkeep. The season ends off with a fall
clean-up to protect plants from the cold and to prepare the
garden beds for the winter. Each maintenance plan will be catered
specifically to you and your garden's needs.
We
also offer occasional garden maintenance service.
These maintenance visits are suited to those who usually maintain their
own gardens and would like some help on occasion or on a special
project to get the gardens looking and performing better. From spring
and fall clean-ups to pruning fruit trees, hedges, evergreens or
flowering shrubs, to edging the beds for a refreshed look or tending to
that weedy patch you've been avoiding, we can can spend some time
focusing on whatever needs attention to get your gardens looking their
best.

Garden creation
Gardens
designed and installed to suit your site and to meet your needs.
From
renovating existing flower beds to planting brand new gardens, we will
meet with you to discuss your goals and determine the best approach for
creating the garden you're after. Depending on the project, this may
include surveying your property and existing gardens, determining which
aspects to change, keep or remove, installing new features and
plantings and following up with fine tuning.
Often
gardens become overgrown or neglected are in need of renovation. This
can be as simple as adding a few new plants, shuffling around the the
existing perennials, edging the beds and perhaps spreading a fresh
layer of mulch. You will be surprised how these simple changes can
rejuvenate your garden.
Other
times, new plantings are called for and we can
customise your new garden to ensure its the best for you and your
property. From low maintenance gardens to bird and butterfly gardens,
native plant, edible gardens or low water gardens, we offer a variety
of garden types to choose from. The garden design and installation
process begins with a complete client questionnaire to discuss your
gardening needs and desires, we will then survey your property before
presenting you with a garden design for your consideration. The garden
design includes a hand drawn landscape plan, descriptions or photos of
suggested plants and materials, along with an estimated price for the
installation. At this stage clients are free to request changes to
ensure they end up with what they're looking for. Once revisions are
made and confirmed, the installation begins and you will be the proud
owner of great looking gardens. Work can be done in stages to suit
budgets, and since gardens are dynamic and ever changing, we will
follow up with fine tuning in order to to keep your gardens looking
their best.

We
will create e a customized dried plant collection for you of flowers
from your garden beds, or ferns from your forest, trees on your
property or or a combination of all of these. The dried plants make
beautiful and meaningful artefacts to be framed and displayed, given as
gifts, or assembled into a scrapbooks for your enjoyment throughout the
year. In addition to being beautiful to look at, the collected plants
make important historical and scientific tools which record the
occurrence of specific plants species and varieties in ever changing
climates and habitats.
Following
the method used in botanical research, the plants are skilfully
collected at the optimal time without causing any harm to the the
parent plant. Once collected, the plants are carefully pressed and
dried to preserve them for years to come. Detailed labels accompany
each plant, recording your preference for information such as medicinal
uses, ecological characteristics, meaning of plant names or associated
folklore.
